Students recently completed an opinion writing paper. Prior to Thanksgiving, students were asked to write a paper on the prompt “Would you rather have been a Pilgrim or a Wampanoag?” Students completed graphic organizers before writing their papers and studied about the Pilgrims and Wampanoags for a week before deciding which they would have rather been.
This week in literacy, we learned about multiple meaning words. Students were each given one word with multiple meanings and asked to draw a picture and write a sentence for two meanings of the word.
